Greetings!
After many years of running a successful Eastern Arabian Horse Show and East Coast Championships, Marty Kleiner has given up the reins. Please, let us all thank him for his years of service and dedication. With that being said, you’ll find some familiar things plus some new and exciting ones.
Once again the shows will be held at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Virginia, www.horsecenter.org. We are proud to continue the East Coast Youth Championships and those stunning trophies. Friday will have a condensed schedule so we can party into the wee hours with our barn parties. The show committee dedicated itself to listening to you, the exhibitor, and made changes you wanted. First, a shorter show. Second, a return of working hunters and jumpers in the sport horse division to both the Eastern Show and East Coast Championships. The Arabian-Bred Hunter/Jumper Association will be sponsoring and presenting the East Coast High Point Hunter/Jumper Award.
For those not attending Sport Horse Nationals in Idaho this year, come to East Coast. We will be offering splits by dressage and hunter types for both shows in the open SHIH and SHUS classes, dressage, carriage driving, and working hunters and jumpers.
For those showing in main ring classes, we are pleased to announce that Buck Grass and Philip Hatfield will be officiating from center ring. Both gentlemen are 2012 US Nationals judges on the English Panel.
We are pleased to offer the UPHA Exceptional Challenge Cup. This is an equitation class developed by the United Professional Horsemen’s Association for participants in a therapeutic riding program. Let’s cheer on our fellow equestrians and watch Arabian horses in an entirely different capacity.
Sincerely,
The Eastern Arabian Horse Show
